ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Meena, and I’m here to support you through life’s challenges and transitions with empathy, understanding, and practical tools for growth. As the founder of Core Centered Counselling, my mission is to help you reconnect with your inner strength, find clarity, and embrace meaningful change.
My own journey has shaped who I am as a counsellor. Born in Bombay, raised in the vibrant city of Al-Ain in the UAE, and settling in Melbourne at the age of 15, I’ve experienced the complexities of adapting to new environments and cultures. These experiences instilled in me an open-minded and gentle approach to life, as well as a deep appreciation for diversity and resilience.
I’ve also faced significant personal challenges, including divorce, vicarious grief, and bullying. These experiences, while difficult, helped me grow, heal, and ultimately fueled my passion for supporting others through their struggles. Just as studying counselling helped me navigate those painful moments, I believe I can help you find hope, healing, and a path forward.
I’m bilingual in Hindi and English, and I have beginner-level fluency in Marathi and Bengali, which allows me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
My Approach
With a professional background spanning 19 years as an academic librarian and my current qualification as a Certified Practising Registrant of PACFA, I bring a wealth of experience in supporting individuals through change. My enriching work placement with counselling Support Coordinators in Turkish community, deepened my understanding of working with people facing complex life situations, and I’ve seen firsthand how tailored support can make a difference.
At Core Centered Counselling, I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic healing techniques, alongside a person-centered approach that ensures your unique needs are always the focus.
Why Core Centered Counselling?
The name reflects my belief that healing and transformation begin at your core—emotionally, mentally, and physically. My aim is to guide you in reconnecting with your strengths and building a sense of balance and calm so you can face life’s challenges with renewed confidence.
“Trust the Journey, Feel the Change”
This tagline embodies the essence of my practice. Trusting the journey means allowing yourself to lean into growth and transformation, even when the path feels uncertain. Feeling the change is about experiencing the tangible, positive shifts that come when you commit to your well-being—whether it’s finding peace, building resilience, or rediscovering your purpose.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, know that you don’t have to face it alone. I’d be honored to support you as you take the next step in your journey toward a brighter, more fulfilling life.
